G OUL D —AIeCO W AN. The marriage of Mr P. C. Gould and Miss E. Al. McCowan was solemnised on December Ist by the Rev. Canon Gould, father of the bridegroom, at Aratapu. The bridesmaids were Misses S. and Af. McCowan, and the groomsmen Messrs. S. Barker and E. T. Walker. The honeymoon was spent at Auckland and Rotorua. MeKAY—AIcCALLUAf. An interesting wedding took place on Dec-ember 2, when Miss Margaret McCallum, daughter of Mr. A. MeC'alhun, of “Waterlea,” was united to Mr. Alexander McKay, of Wairau Vest (writes our Alarlborough correspondent). The ceremony was held at the residence of the bride's parents, the Rev. W. O. Robb officiating. The bridesmaids were Miss Ethel Grady, of Wellington, ami Miss McKay, sister of the bridegroom. A great number of beautiful presents were displayed and duly admired by the guests. PINKERTON—OTTON. An interesting wedding took place on November 30 at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, which was prettily decorated. The occasion was the marriage of Air Samuel Pinkerton, second son of the late Air C. Pinkerton, of Masterton, and Aliss Emma Otton, daughter of Air A. AL Otton, of Napier. The bride, who was attended by the sister of the bridegroom as bridesmaid, was attired in pale grey, relieved with white silk. She wore a white hat, and carried a lovely white shower bouquet. The bridesmaid wore a dress of white silk and lace, and a picture hat trimmed with flowers. A charming bouquet of white flowers gave a pretty finish io the costume. At the steps of the chancel

they were met by the bridegroom, supported by Air J. Cameron, who acted as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev- T. Hampton- After the ceremony a reception was held by the parents of the bridegroom. Mr and Mrs Samuel Pinkerton left later for Wanganui. OLDHAM—MILLER. The marriage of Mr F. G. Oldham, of Frasertown, Wairoa. and Miss Ada Miller, second daughter of Mr Miller. of Napier, took place at the residence of Air R. Mantan ?>lilfer, llar-vey-road, Napier, recently. The bride, who was given away liy her father, wore a gown of ivory silk trimmed with handsome lace; she wore a wreath of bridal flowers in her hair, and a tulle veil- and carried a bouquet of white flowers. There were two bridesmaids. The bridegroom presented one with a gold bangle and the other with a gold mounted greenstone heart. Air L. Edsar was best man. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. C- E. Beecroft- Subsequently the bride and bridegroin left for Frasertown. HORSLEY—WOODWARD. At the early hour of 8 a.ui. on Wednesday, December 9th, a very quiet wedding took place between Dr. Alice Woodward and Air Arthur Horsley. The bride, who looked sweet in pure white silk and a most, becoming hat, was given away by her brother, and attended by her sister, Aliss Constance. The picturesque old stone church nt Alangcre Bridge was prettily decorated for the occasion with white lilies, and the Rev. Al. At. Kirkbride officiated. Notwithstanding the early hour friends gathered to wish happiness to the newly-wedded pair, who, after breakfast, left for Cambridge. SPEIGHT—PEARCE. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Holy Trinity Church, Devonport, on December 9th, when Mr Harold H. Speight, youngest son of the late Sergeant -Alajor Speight, of Parnell, was married to Aliss Lidie Pearce, eldest daughter of Mr G. A. Pearee, of Devonport. The bride looked charming in a beautiful ivory silk made en traine The skirt was prettily tueked and frilled. and the bodice in bolero effect, with chiffon, and chiffon embroidery. The customary wreath and veil were worn, and the bride carried a lovely bouquet presented by the bridegroom’s sister. She was attended as bridesmaids by her cousin, Aliss Aland Jenkins, of Jiltham, and her sister, Aliss Irene Pearee. They looked pretty in white silk frocks inserted with string insertion, and they wore large hats trimmed with white chiffon and double violets, with long chiffon strings caught up with large rosettes of ehiffon and violets, and carried pretty bouquets. The. bridegroom was attended by two groomsmen, Air Harry Holder and Air Colin Speight. The bride was given away by her father. Airs Pearce (mother of the bride) wore black silk voile, with black satin coffee eoat, black toque with tips and relieved with white, and long blaek chiffon strings; Airs Speight (mother of the bridegroom) wore black, with a beautiful white embroidered crepe shawl. After the ceremony the bridal party and guests proceeded to St. Leo's Hall, where afternou tea was served, and a very enjoyable evening spent. Among the guests 1 noticed: Air A. S.
