Dear 800. September 12. The event of the week lias been th? MASONIC BALL gixen by the Star of the North Lodge. E.C. We have two lodges here, representing the English and Now Zealand Constitutions, and each gives an annual ball. These balls are looked forward to with zestful interest, both bv thyouthful and those of mure mature age, as many who do not affect to follow the everyday social gathering enter heartily into the whirl of the “annual ball.’’ Month- befrre dresses are devised, ami* deft hands find congenial work in making up the suprisc frocks. About 25') were present. The hall was decorated with great taste, and the array of greenery. flowers mirrors and flags made a nio-t charming tout ensemble, which was enlivened with the regalias of the brethren, local and visiting.
