Dear Bee, August 25. On Wednesday evening the Wanganui Liedertafel held their fifteenth concert in the Opera House before a large and fashionable audience, who attended despite the inclement weather. The concert was thoroughly enjoyable, though the society sufTered from the absence of several of its members. Mrs Dodgshun gave an enjoyable euchre party on Thursday evening. Mrs Dodgshun received her guests in a pretty black silk costume, and her daughter wore a tueked cream silk, trimmed with lace and insertion. Amongst the guests were Misses Marchant (Timaru), McBeth (Christchurch), Izard. Gilfillan (Auckland). Nolan (Gisborne), McDonnell, Christie, Griffiths. Anderson, and Earle. Messrs Sounders. Wood (2), Izard. Lewis. Brandon, Steadman, and Dodgshun (2). On Saturday Mrs Greig gave an “At Home" for Miss McLean, of Napier, who is spending a few weeks with her. Amongst the guests were the Misses Alleyne, Richmond (Nelson). Marchant (Timaru), Dodgshun. Krull, Page. Cowper, Earle. Nolan (Gisborne), Gilfillan (Auckland). I. .Tones. McNeill. Izard, Knapp. O. Mason (Gisborne), G. Mason. Inglis (Pahiatua), Stewart (2), Brown, and others. Tito following ladies are representing Wanganui in the golf championship in Wellington:—Mesdaiues Cleghorn and Barnicoat, Misses Moore, M. Jackson, H. Barnicoat and P. Wilford. Miss McLean, of Napier, is spending a few weeks with Mrs Grieg in Wanganui. HUI A.
