ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

Wlmt seemed like a certain draw was converted into a win by Y.M.C.A. against Thistle, although it is claimed that the score was gained after the expiry cf the regulation time for the game. On this ground Thistle has protested, for they claim that the referee did not even have a watch, aud when the touch-line umpire, who kept the time, signalled to the referee that time was up. lie did not see or, any way. took no notice of Hie upraised flag, it is the fact that the Y.M.C.A. was on the point cf scoring at the time, and some are’ inclined to assert the power of the referee to . let the game go on in such a circumstance. The matter will be dealt with by tJic Association tills week. >l' the protest is dismissed Y.M.C.A. lead by one point for the cup. and are virtual wieners. If a draw Is declared. Thistle are still one point alien 1. anil in tile event of n Y.M.C.A. draw with Tabernacle, will play off with Y.M.C.A. for the championship; if Y'.M.C.A. wins the •■.Tabs"- match, the club wins the cup by one iiolnt—a defeat is scarcely te be reckoned in the calculations.
