ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
Two matches were played on Saturday in the second round of the senior championship. Thistle beating Grafton and North Shore Tabernacle. By tjiis victory over Grafton —a distinct victory, by the way—Thistle have placed themselves ahead of Y.M.C.A. by one point, and the concluding tug-of-war should be seen next Saturday. when these teams meet If it is not a draw, then one or other becomes the practical certainty for the cnp. Y.M.C.A. had their last bye ou Saturday, and next Saturday will be Thistle's last month. In the juniors, ‘Varsity, by beating Fitt-strect. placed themselves level with that team, and the piay-off between these two teams will Im witnessed next Saturday. It is deemed probable that the Varsity team will enter the lists of the senior tournament.
