GOLF NOTES.
The final round of the Hargreaves medal competition, played at the Cornwall Jiuks on Saturday, was won by Mr al. T. Gillies, who made the fine score of 79. Xir Mair did not fulfil the promise of his first round, unfortunately for himself. The sec-rts fur both rounds were:—ll. Gillies, Apiil 18 2 down, April 25 6 up, result 4 up; J. Fin ns. 1 up, 3 down, 2 down; W. B. Colbeek. 2 up. 5 down; 3 down; L. Mair, 2 up, 6 down, 4 down; Dr. Coates, 4 down, 3 down. 7 down; W. W, Bruce, 2 down. 6 down, 8 down; XV. Heather, 7 down, 1 <lowu, 8 down; J. Hall. 9 down, 1 up, S down: K. XV. Payton, 3 down, 8 down. 11 down; C. Pollen,»’ down, 7 down. 14 down; E. Hortou, (> down. 9 down. 15 down; C. Tisdall, 11 down. <8 down. 19 down. There was a large attendance on the greens, among the visitors being Ills Exceilf-ney the Governor. The course was in excellent order, but worm easts in the putting greens caused some trouble.
