SPIRIT OF SCEPTICISM.
Once upon a time two birds, flying over the dessert, were fainting with weariness. “T.et us pause at yonder oasis.” said one of the birds. “Oasis!” said the other bird. “How do you know it isn’t a woman’s hat?” The spirit of scepticism, while it doubtless imparts an air of intellectuality. is sometimes the cause of much unhappiness.
