Dear Bee, January 10. Since writing last week we have been having a very gay time, as the English cricketers have been in Wanganui. They arrived on Saturday morning, and began Io play in the afternoon. In spite <>f the weather being very eold and windy there was a great number of people over watching the game. They played on the Boys’ College grounds. Mrs. Watt gave afternoon tea. Monday, being one of the finest days we have had this summer, everyone turned out in their best. Among those present who witnessed the match were: Mrs. J. Watt, who wore a very pretty whi.e silk dress, with frilled skirt and black hat; Mrs. Alexander, black satin; Miss Alexander, blaek and white dress and blaek hat; Mrs. Greig, blue silk spotted dress, white hat; Mrs. Campbell, heliotro|ie dress and hat; Miss 11. Borlace, pink and white flowered muslin and white hat, with pink roses; Mrs. Christie wore a very pretty green dress, tucked, and insertion skirt, and black hat trimmed with chiffon; Miss Marsden, pink silk blouse, dark skirt, and pink hat, trimmed with chiffon and roses; Miss Christie, pretty grey costume and black bat; Miss Blair, navy blue costume; Miss M. Blair, tueked blue silk blouse and black skirt; Miss Barnicoat, black and white mnslin dress, black sash, and black hat; Mrs. Blundell, blue and white dress, tucked,

•nd insertion, and pretyr blue hat to match; Mrs. Porritt looked very well in a tussore silk dress, trimmed with insertion to mutch, and tucked, with turquoise blue chou and belt; Mrs. Dr. Christie, green costume, and black hat; Miss .Fleetwood, white muslin dress and black hat; Miss G. Fleetwood, blue costume and blue hat; Mrs. Hope Gibbons, a pretty brown costume, and black hat.

In the evening the local cricketers gave a concert for the English team, •nd after the concert they finished up with a dance, which Mrs. McDonald gave for them. The team left on Tuesday for Palmerston. Mr. Mee and Misses Mee stayed a few days in Wanganui, on their way up to Mr. G. Mee’s run, where they are staying for three weeks’ holiday.
