ORANGE BLOSSOMS
TOWNSHEND—CRANE. A quiet and pretty wedding- took place on Wednesday, the 12th November, at the residence of Mr F. M. Hills, Rose-road, Grey Lynn, Auckland. The contracting parties were Mr Herbert Townshend, youngest son of Mr Joseph Townshend, of London, and Miss Ada Beatrice Crane, youngest daughter of the late Mr Thomas Frederick Crane, also of London. The Rev. Joseph Clark, of the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle, officiated, and Mr Thompson, sen., of Birkenhead, gave away the bride. The bridegroom was supported by Mr Hills, while the bridesmaids were Misses Hills and McArthur. The decoration of the house with flowers, the dresses of the bride and bridesmaids, and the display of presents given to the happy pair, had a very pretty and pleasing effect.
NUDDS—BARRINGTON. A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Matthew’s Chureh, Auckland, on Wednesday, when Miss Alice Barrington was married to Mr Robert Nudds, of Melbourne. The Rev. W. E. Gillam M.A., was the officiating clergyman, and Mr Towsey presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her mother, looked very winsome in a lovely cream French silk. The tucked bodice had bell sleeves and transparent yoke of passementerie. The skirt and train were trimmed with a deep shaped flounce, covered with a tiny embroidered mousseline de soie frills under a vandyke overskirt. The long tulle veil was draped over a coronet of orange flowers, and caught on the left shoulder, and fell in soft folds on the train. Miss Burke, who was first bridesmaid, was attired in a very pretty heliotrope crepe de chine with five frills in the skirt, let in with French feather-stitching and glace silk bands. The tucked bodice was covered with old lace in Gibson style, falling in a straight piece to the hem of the skirt. She wore a black chiffon picture hat with cream lace, and she carried a bouquet of heliotrope flowers. Miss McDougall, who was second bridesmaid, wore a silk spotted grass lawn over rose-pink glace, handsomely trimmed with selfcoloured insertions and lace, relieved with touches of black velvet ribbon, transparent net yoke and sleeves, and
a pretty picture hat with pink roses and black ribbon velvet. The bridegroom presented the bridesmaids with silver card cases. Mr John Henderson acted as best man, and Signor Braga to as groomsman. After the ceremony the bridal party drove to Mr V. Collins’, Parnell, where they were entertained at the wedding repast. Later Mr and Mrs Nudds left for Hamilton, where the honeymoon is to be speftt, the bride wearing a stylish travelling gown of reseda green, piped with white glace silk, and black hat. 1 ’.ON NO R—G RIFFIN. Mr. George Frederick Bonnor, of Mangavveka, was married to Miss Agnes Clark Griffin, eldest daughter of Mr. John Griffin, of Napier, in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Napier, on Saturday last week. The bride was led to the altar by her father, ami was attended by her sister as bridesmaid. The bride wore a white silk dress with train, trimmed with lace and orange blossoms, and her sister was dressed in muslin trimmed with satin ribbon. Mr. C. Liddells acted as best man to the bridegroom. The Rev. J. A. Asher officiated. After the reception, which was held at the residence of the bride’s parents in Haveloek-road, Mr. and Mrs. Bonnor left for Dannevirke and Wanganui. The bride travelled in a fawn tailor-made costume with white silk waistcoat and fawn hat.
