PIGEON SHOOTING.

At the live-bird pigeon match, held at Elferslie on the 13th insti, Mr. Roseingrave, shooting from the 32j’d mark, won the £lOO live-bird match and gold medal, killing all his birds, lie was shooting with the Colonial Ammunition Company's “Favourite’’ cartridges. Ten shooters tied for second place, viz., Owen, Scott, Webley, Evitt, Seccombe, Raynor, Northcroft, Schtniedel, Julian and Williamson. In shooting off Seccombe took 'second place. Northcroft third, and Schmiedel fourth. The second, third . and fourth prize-takers used Nobel’s sporting Ballistite cartridges. The committee who carried out the match are to be congratulated on the success of the whole undertaking. The fine weather added much to the enjoyment of the shooting-. Mr. Northcroft, who is a young sportsman, and who took third place, shot in very good form throughout the match. Mr. Jack Williamson, also a young shooter, although he did not win' a prize, showed very good form, and is the making of a first-class pigeon shot.

The New Zealand Inanimate PigeonShooting Association held their annual pigeon match at Ellerslie on the 14th inst. The shooting all through was a great success. The prize-win-ners were as follows:

First Sweep: J. O'Halloran, 10 kills out of a possible 11; J. Wilkinson, 9 kills out of a possible 10; Dr. Owen, 8 lulls out of a possible 10; J. Williamson, 7 kills out of a possible 10. £ 1 Handicap Sweepstake of 20 birds each: Abbot 11 birds, handicap 10, total 21; M. Koseingrave, 15 birds, handicap 4. total 19; F. Seccombe, 14 birds, handicap 4, total 18; W. Siinmins, 8 birds, handicap 8, total IG. The Ballistite Cup was then shot, for at 20 birds each. Dr. Owen and F. Seccombe tied with 15 out of 20, and on shooting off F. Seccombe won the cup. A. C. Whitney was third. This cup is intended to be. shot for with Ballistite only, but all kinds of powder were used. On the second day all winners shot with Nobel’s sporting Ballistite.
