MAIR—COATES.
A quiet, but pretty, wedding was celebrated at St. Barnabas’ Church, Mt. Eden. Auckland, when Miss Agnes Blanche Coates, daughter of Dr. F. W. Coates, Auckland, was married to Mr Leslie Edward Mair. The chancel of the church was prettily decorated by the girl friends of the bride. The Rev. E. J. McFarland officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked pretty in her wedding robe of white silk. Sho wore a tulle veil over a tiara of orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom presented her with a gold chain and pendant. Misses Ma-bel F, Coates and Winifred Mair attended the bride, and were attired in white muslin frocks, and wore white hats trimmed with pale pink roses, and carried bouquets of white and mauve wistaria. Their souvenirs were gold brooches. IMr Gilbert Mair acted as best man, and Mr Eustace Coates as groomsman. After the ceremony the bridal party drove to “East Dean,” the residence of the bride’s parents, where a recherche breakfast was partaken of. Later Mr and Mrs Mair left on their honeymoon tour, the bride wearing a smart, navy blue cloth coat and skirt, and a pale blue tulle hat, with for-get-me-nots. The presents were numerous and valuable.
