JUNGLE JINKS.
How Doctor Lion Had Frogs for Supper.
1. What ever are these boys doing, paddling about in the river among the reeds and water-lilies? Can il be possible that they are up to mart mischief? Why. I do believe—yes, they are frog-hunting! Look at Jumbo and young Hare popping the slippery creatures into a basket. Now, I wonder what they are going to do with them ?
2. Ah, this picture explains everything. I thought those boys were up to some mischief, and I was right. Cook is busy preparing Dr. Lion's supper, and .Taiko Ims slipped downstairs in his nightshirt and stolen a. leg of mutton out of the dish while cook’s back w.-.s turned. That rascal Jumbo is putting a lot of' frogs under the dish-cover instead.
3. Of course, cook didn’t think of looking under that cover again, and when she sent Jane the maid upstairs with the dish Doctor and Mrs. Lion got a great surprise. Mrs. Lion gave si scream when she saw Die frogs dancing about all over the table, and Dr. Lion’s hair positively sj ood on end. Strangely enough. Dr. Lion never found out where those frogs came from, though cook thought she could make a pretty good guess.
