The new aerated water which made its appearance in the market lately has already established itself well in public favour. Lithia water, as it is called, has much the taste of sodawater, and claims in addition the valuable properties of lithia carbonate in removing- uric acid from the system. It is specially recommended for people with a tendency to gout or rheumatism.

The danger of jumping on or off ’busses while in motion was demonstrated in Auckland last week when a boy named William Everson met

with an accident on the Beach road. It appears that at half-past five one of Martin’s Parnell ’buses was coming along the Beach-road, when Everson tried to jump on to the wheel-guard at the back of the ’bus, the vehicle being of the road-car pattern, with no back entrance. In doing so he got foul of the wheel, and was hurt. Mr Le Roy saw the accident, and called to the driver, but the latter did not hear, and had not seen the accident, and drove on. The boy was picked up and taken to the hospital, where it was found that the first, second and third fingers of the left hand were crushed, and the right foot hurt. The boy was, however, well enough to go home after his injuries were attended to.
