NELSON.
Dear Bee, March 10. The Janet Waldorf Dramatic Company were back in Nelson last week. This is their third visit within the last few months, but the good houses which greeted each performance show that they have won the admiration of the drama-loving people of Nelson, and at the close of the season the announcement that the company would return next month was received with tremendous applause. The opening performance was Sheridan. Knowles’ fine old-time comedy, “The Hunchback,” followed, by Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” and Gilbert’s classical comedy, “Pygmalion and Galatea,” all of which were greatly appreciated by those present, the acting of Miss Waldorf and Mr Norval Macgregor being very clever. Amongst the audience on different evenings were noticed: Mrs Levien, black; Miss Levien, becoming blouse of soft white silk, black skirt; Mrs and Miss Richmond: Mrs Robertson; Miss Robertson, white; Miss Rutherford (Marlborough), evening blouse of bright blue satin, finished with lace; Miss Bunny, rose pink silk blouse, black skirt; Mrs Ellis; Miss M. Ellis looked well in pink evening dress; Mr and Mrs Jack Sharp, the latter wearing a black gown, with smart fichu of white lace; Mrs Satchel, black, relieved with white;
Miss Gribben, heliotrope and white silk blouse, dark skirt; Miss Mary Duff, black gown, relieved with whltb lace; Mr and Mrs Dean (Wellington), the latter wearing a smart evening blouse ef China blue silk, dark skirt; Mrs Bain, black; Mr and Mrs Childs; Mrs and Miss Booth; Mrs and Miss Douglas (Stoke); Mr, Mrs and the Misses Fell (2); Mrs and Miss M. Glasgow; Miss Buchanan, pretty bright red gown; Mrs Lemmer wore grey; Mr and Mrs E. Cooke; Miss Hunter-Brown, black evening dress, with lace finishings; Misses Kempthorne, Sealy (2), Coek (2), Edwards (2), Douglas, Moore (2), Littlejrihn, D. Roberts, Hubbard, Liversay, Pasley, Isaacson.
