Personal Paragraphs.

Mr S. McLernon, of Napier, has been spending a short time in Gisborne. Miss Tuke, of Napier, is visiting friends in Auckland. Mr and Mrs Robison intend leaving Napier for a visit to England in a few weeks. Mrs Milne Thomson, of Wairoa, is staying with friends in Napier. Captain and Mrs Davidson, of Napier, have been for a visit to Wairoa. Mr Knowles, of Napier, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Miss Hoadley, of Napier, has been spending a short time in Wellington. Bishop Stuart, is staying in Napier with his sister, Mrs Marsden Clarke. The Bishop of Waiapu has been visiting Gisborne. Miss Hall, of Auckland, is staying in Napier. Dr. and Mrs Findlay, of Wellington, were passengers from Auckland to San Francisco by the mail steamer Siena on Saturday, en route for Europe. Mr George Dunnett, of Auckland, agent for the Oceanic Steamship Company returned from Sydney by the Sierra on Saturday. He leaves for San Francisco by the Sonoma next month, en route for - Europe. Mr Walter Purchase, lately assistant clerk in the Magistrate’s Court at Ashburton, has gone to Waimate as clerk of the Court there.

Mr Curnow, editor of the Sydney “Morning Herald,” accompanied by Miss Curnow, are among the passengers by the Sonoma from Auckland to Sydney. Miss Alice Hollander, the wellknown singer, was a passenger front Auckland to San Francisco by the mail steamer Sierra on Saturday. Mrs. Wright, of Tauranga, has gone on a visit to the Old'Country.. She wasjfarewelled by a large gathering of citizens on leaving town. . . , Captain S. Kennedy: has resumed command of the s.s. Kotiiku, .Captain Lake going over to the Haupiri."< ,i Mrs and Miss Begg, of Napier, intend leaving for a visit to England early next month. Sir Robert and Lady Stout are also paying a visit in the South. Dr., Mrs and Miss Grac- have returned home after 'heir trip to the Southern Lakes. • Mrs and the Misses Gollins, of Australia, are. in Wellington for a long visit, and are staying at MisS Malcolm's, The Terrace. Miss Waymouth is staying - with her unde,. Mr. George Waymouth (Invercargill). Mrs. Arthur Blakiston, of Chatain Island, is staying with her mother, Mrs. Henna, Merlvale. Councillor John Smith, of Wellington, has obtained leave of absence in order to visit the Old Country and see the Coronation. Mrs. Black, of Epsom, Auckland, has returned from Sydney, where she spent five months.
