GISBORNE, Tuesday. The Gisborne Racing Club’s Steeplechase Meeting was held today and was largely attended. Beautiful weather prevailed, and the sum of £2910 was passed through the machine. The results were: — Hurdies.—Scallywag, 1; Straybird 2; Sylvannus, 3. Also started: Voltigeur 11., Kowhai, and Tarragon. Won easily. Time, 4m 4s, Dividend, £2 8/. Ladies’ Bracelet. —Malcolm, 1; Knight. Templar, 2; Peter Osbeck, 3. Also started: Snaphence, Ballinger, Albion, and Mangahiti. Won easily. Time. 1.56. Dividend, £2 13/. Flying Handicap.—Tauhei.l; Gipsy Queen. 2; Vatbek, 3. Also started: Admiral Hawke, Three Star, Don, and Merry Boy. Won by a length. Time 1.22. Dividend, £3 4/. Maiden Hack.—A.B.N., 1; Federation, 2; Chancellor 11., 3. Also started: Addie, Martin, and Bobbie Burns. Won by a length and a half. Time, 1.6 J. Dividend, £3 5/. Trial Steeplechase.—Gryphon, 1; Cronje. 2; Hylas, 3. Won by two lengths. ’Rime, 4.8. Dividend, £2 11/. Only the three started. Hunters’ Cup.—Ballinger, 1; Albion, 2; Sailor, 3. Also started: Fencer and Peter Osbeck. Time, 4.45. .Dividend, £2 10/.
