Bear Bee, July *• A most successful SOCIAL was held at the Girls’ College on Saturday evening in connection with the Melson College Old Girls’ Association. The large schoolroom which was used was converted for the time being into u delightful drawing-room, and decorated with flags and pots of ferns. A number of games were indulged in during the evening, which caused much amusement. Miss Tendall, who acted as hostess, wore a becoming gown of black velvet relieved with point lace and white chiffon; Miss Gribben, black silk finished with white Jace; Miss Pearce, pretty pink blouse, Jark skirt; Miss Holloway, red silk blouse, black skirt; Miss Sealy, pink silk blouse and lace, dark skirt; Miss Sell, white silk; Miss Preshaw, becom- ■ ting light blouse, dark skirt; Miss Leggat t, blue flowered dress with lace collar; Miss Tomlinson, pink flowered muslin; Miss Mules, pink silk blouse, black skirt; Miss Locking (Napier), X light, muslin dress; Miss M. Tendall, light blue, finished with white silk; Miss Burford, pretty red silk blouse, black skirt; Miss Blackett, light evening blouse, dark skirt; Miss M. Glasgow, grey costume; the Misses Harris, Kilis (2). Hunter-Brown, Buchanan. E. Sealy, McGregor, Houlker, Moore (2), Mercer, Boon. Maginnity. Kempihorne. and many others. On Saturday afternoon an enjoyable BICYCLE PICNIC to Maekav’s Bluff was arranged byMiss Tomlinson. A start from town was made about 2 p.m., and after a ftmart run the Bluff was reached in a little over an hour. The delicious afternoon tea was much appreciated by all. Amongst the ladies present were the Misses Tomlinson. Locking. Barris (2). Filleul, Leggatt, Glasgow, and Blackett.
