WOOD—WILSON.
A very quiet but exceedingly- pretty wedding took place at half-past two on Saturday at St. Mary’s. Merivale, when Mr W. Wood (Christchurch) was married to Miss Wilson (England), the Rev. 11. Airay-Watson, the Vicar, officiating. The service was semi-choral, Miss Dobson presiding at the organ. The church had been most tastefully decorated by- Mrs V. Hargreaves and friends; ivy, flax and pampas was the foundation, then with autumn foliage, grasses and chrysanthemums and handsome palms and ferns in pots, the effect was charming. The bride entered with Mr Wood, sen., and wore a lovely English gown (from Peter Robinson's) of creamy white satin and Valenciennes lace. The under skirt had two rows of insertion and frill of lace at the bottom; the over skirt was IKJintid back and front, and also had two rows of insertion and edged with lace. The bodice was finished with an Eton jacket of perpendicular stripes of insertion and satin, with folded belt, white hat and feathers, and exquisite shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Mr W. Wood’s two little daughters, in creamy white cashmere, with flounce at the bottom, trimmed with satin ribbon and folded belts, white felt hats, simply trimmed with chiffon, and they carried posy bouquets of scarlet geranium and maidenhair fem, tied with pale green ribbons. Miss Wilson (sister of the bride) was in turquoise crepe de chine, with tucked flounce, the bodice and sleeves tucked perpendicularly and folded black satin belt and black sequin hat with feathers; she also had a posy bouquet of pale pink chrysanthemums; Mrs Wood (mother of the bridegroom) wore a rich black silk with handsome white lace collar, black and white bonnet: Mrs Waleot Wood, a lovely pale grey gown, with gold braid, and vest of white silk and chiffon, black toque; Mrs Peter Wood, vieux rose Eton jacket and skirt, with white front; the jacket, was outlined with black, the revers braided in gold, black Tuscan hat; Mrs Macfarlane, black and white costume, hat to match; Mrs'Dcrry Wood, mourning costume; Messrs Henry-, Walcot, Peter and Derry Wood and Master Bernard Wood and little Miss Macfar-
Jane comprised the wedding- party. The bridal party left the chureh to the nt rains of the “Wedding March,” uad adjourned to “Blakenham House." the residence of Mr Wood, sen., where the health of Mr and Mrs W. Wood was drunk, the happy pair leaving between four and five o’clock in the usual shower of rice.
