Dear Bee, June IT.* In order to commemorate the notable event of the Heir Apparent to the English throne first landing’ in New Zealand, the Government ’ Buildings here were elaborately deco ratefl with various sorts of greenery, but principally that indigenous to the country, and flags and festoons of white and purple drapery across the whole front of the building, fastened at regular intervals with yellow rosettes. The news of the landing of the Royal visitors was received at 2 p.m., and announced by the booming of our ancient cannon, and immediately strings of flags fluttered from the Toof of the building. Two large transparencies were in front, one of the King and Queen, on the right, and the Duke and Duchess on the left, of the principal entrance, framed with lycopodium. the same creeper anrrounding each window. The work of decoration was doue under the direction of Mr F. Paine.
