Mrs. Levin, widow of the late Mr. W. Levin, of Wellington, and her daughter, who have been spending some months in New Zealand, return to England in the Moana, via Vanvouver, this month; Mr., Mrs. and Miss Johnston, of Wellington, being also by the same boat. Mrs. T. C. Moorhouse (Canterbury) is the guest of Mrs. Rhodes, at the Grange, in Wellington. Major and Mrs.. Goring (Bay of Islands) came to Wellington *last week in order to be present at the wedding of their nephew, Mr. Walter Goring Johnston, to Miss Coleridge, which took plaee at the residence of Mr. W. T. L. Travers, the bride’s grandfather, at the Lower Hutt.

Captain Hutson (Wellington), who has been invalided from South Africa, arrived in Wellington by the ifonowai from Sydney, and received a very warm welcome from his many friend's there, and has almost completely recovered from the effects of the wound which he received at Oliphant’s Nek. Captain Hutson was present at the funeral of Queen Victoria, being in charge of the contingent of Australians and New Zealanders on that occasion.

Mr. N, Reid has been re-elected president of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. David Nathan vice-president.

Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Studholme, of “Kakahu," Canterbury, spent a few days at the Grange in Wellington with Mrs, Rhodes, on tehlr way home from the North, where they have been the guests of Mr. Joe Studholme, at “Euauui,” for some weeks. Captain Alexander, A.D.C., left Wellington for Melbourne this week, to meet Lady Ranfurly, and the Ladies Eileen and Constance Knox there, oh their return from England. The Countess is expected to arrive in Wellington about the beginning of May. Archdeacon Grace, vicar of the Church ot the Nativity, Blenheim, has gone on a three months’ tour through the Nelson diocese, in connection with the inauguration of the centenary fund of ttat diocese. Mr and Mrs Arthur Pearce have rome in to town from tlieir lowrv Bay rreidence for the winter.

The Misses Fitzherbert have gone up to Wanganui for a visit, and Intend taking a trip up the river.

Miss WardeQ is staying with Mrs Biddiford at the Hutt. Mr and Mrs liiddiford and Miss Riddiford leave shortly on a long visit to England. The Count and Countess de Courte also intend visiting England and France* quite soon.

Mra Wallis has gone up to Marton to be present at the marriage of Miss Nina Hadfield and the Rev. Mr Bond. Mrs Johnston anti Miss Ella. Johnston have gone Home to England for a visit.

Mrs Levin and her little daughter have returned to their home in the Old Country. The Rev. Lyttelton Fitz Gerald, Mrs Levin's brother, haa accompanied them, and intends making- a long stay at Home. Mrs and Miss Hislop have gone to Dunedin for a few weeks. Mrs (Dr.) Forbes, of I’aeroa, is leaving for England for a six months’ visit to her uncle, General Cave. Mrs Kerr and son. of Wellington, are staying at "Hinemoa” House. Auckland. Mrs Kerr is niece of Miss H. Corbett Parnell. Mrs M. C. Cashel, of Auckland, has gone on a visit to her daughter, Mrs Alf. Bayly. at Stratford. Mr and Mrs G. Richardson, of Westport, are staying with Mrs Anderson in Wanganui. Mrs Heywood has returned to Auckland after a short visit to Wanganui. Mrs D’Arcy and children (Wanganui) are staying in Auckland with Rev. Gould.

His Lordship Bishop Lenihan, of Auckland, was in New Plymouth on Tuesday.

Mr T. W. Dawson has arrived in Dunedin from Oamam, having been transferred to the Bank of New Zealand there.

Dr. Conolly, of Wanganui, has returned to his home after his sad visit to Auckland to attend the funeral of bis father.

A presentation was made last evening to Mr C. E. Button, who has ior 13 years been Mayor of Birkenhead. A most enthusiastic gathering of residents was held in the Gladstone Hall, when an illuminated address was handed to Mr Button in recognition of his services.

Mr James Krrker, of the South British Insurance Co., arrived in Auckland on Monday last from the Cape, and was warmly welcomed by his many friends. Mrs Carlile, of Napier, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Miss Gilroy, from Scotland, is visiting Napier, and is staying . with Mrs Wealey.

Miss Watt, of Napier, left the other day for a visit to England. Mr E. H. Williams, of Napier, who is * well-known cricketer, and left recently for a visit to England, will be much missed by the members of the Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association, of which he has for a long time been President. The day before his departure at a large gathering of cricketers -who had met to say good-bye to him, he was presented with a purse of sovereigns, with which they wished him to tray a suitable memento-. Mr Fraser. M.H.R., presided at the meeting, and made an appropriate speech, thanking Mr Williams for the interest which he had always taken in cricket in Hawke's Bay, and expressing all good wishes Ger a pleasant visit fa England.

Miss Mary Morton, of Auckland, is Staying in Hawke's Bay, and is at present painting a picture of one of Captain Russell's horses.

Miss Christie, of Wanganui, is staying with Miss Cbtterill, of Napier. Mrs Sydney Johnston, of Hawke's Bay, has gone for a visit to England.

Mr and Mrs E. Webster, of New Plymouth, are on a trip to Te Aroha, on account of the former’s health.

Mr J. Hempton and Mr A. Hernpton, both of Wellington, the former of the Custom’s, and the latter of Hie Bank of New Zealand, have been visiting their parents in New Plymouth, but have now returned.

Mr and Mrs Edward Sealy, of Auckland, passed through New Plymouth last week on their way to Christchurch, where they are going to reside. Dr. Leatham, of New Plymouth, has been enjoying a well-earned holiday down the coast, but has now returned. Mr J. Avery, and Mr H. Ward, of New Plymouth, have returned from their most enjoyable trip to Sydney. Mr D. Long, of the Assets Realisation Board, Wellington, was in New Plymouth last week. Mr G. Tabor, of New Plymouth, has gone to Wellington to study and attend some dental examinations that are coming off in June.

Mrs E. M. Kilgour. of Auckland, will not return from the Old Country as soon as she anticipated. Her trip to Europe has been a most enjoyable one, including visits to friends in different parts of England. Scotland. Ireland and the Continent. Miss Kitty Lennox, of Remuera, Auckland, has returned home from her viait to the South.

Mrs Williams and Miss Elfie Williams. have gone down to the Southern Lakes for a trip. Mr and Mra O» 8. Wat kina have gone out to the Hutt to live, haring bought Mr George Pearce’s pretty residence there.

Mr and Miss Harcourt have returned from their trip to Nelson. Captain Alexander is going over to Australia to meet the Countess of Ranfurly and her children, on their arrival there next month, and accompany them back.
