To Have Pretty Hands.

When'you wash your hands do it thoroughly. A superficial washing rubs the dirt into the pores and spoils the texture of the skin.

Wash in tepid water to which a pinch of borax has been added. Don’t use cheap soap. It ruins the skin.

Wear gloves if you have to do housework and rubber ones if you have to do any washing up. Rub in a little glycerine and lemon juice mixed in equal proportions every night after washing. Always press back the skin at the base of the nail with the towel after

drying. Red hands are often caused by insufficient undereiothing and too tight sleeves.

Lemon juice is excellent for whitening the skin, but should never be used alone. Mix it with an equal quantity of elderflower water.

Keep your muscles in a flexible condition. Piano playing exercises them and keeps them supple. No grace is possible with stiffened muscles. Drop any mannerisms in which the hands play an important part.

And don’t drum on the table, for that is the most common fault and one of the hardest to overcome.
