The farmhouses on all sides had white tings Hying. Our scouts visited th in to confirm this waving assurance of neutrality. In one house they found the fair memlvers of the family in bed. being sick. They strongly protested against intrusion. However beneath the beds four robust Boers of the Wakkerstroom Commando were found. This somewhat disconcerted the protestations of the women, who were promptly told to rise. lam assured they now look the healthiest specimens of Boers we have encountered.
