Dear Bee, February 12. The weather lately has not been at all what, one would expeet at this time of the year; instead of warm days of sunshine we have had it cold and windy. Rain is much needed in town, but it does hot come in targe enough quantities to do lasting good. There was quite a large gathering at the M AIT Al TENNIS COURTS on Saturday afternoon, when a match was to have been played against Cable Bay. but owing to a shower of rain it was not finished, much to the disappointment of every one. Mrs Percy Adams, Airs Sweet, and Miss Levfen provided a most delicious afternoon tea. to which full justice was done by all. Seme who were present were:—Mrs Watts, Mrs. WebbBowen, Mrs . Percy Adams. Mrs Sweet, Mrs Harris. Mrs Bunny, the Missest Webb-Bowen (2), Miss Heaps, Miss Cuthoys (Sydney), Miss Bunny, Mrs and Miss Robinson, Mrs and Miss Mackay. Miss Ledger. Miss. Huddleston, the Misses Harris (2). Robertson, ete., etc*.

Holland costume, black hat with red roses beneath the brim; Airs Renwick, grey costume, black mantle and bonnet; Miss Heaps, dainty white muslin, small -white hat with trimmings of feathers and chiffon; Miss Webb-Bowen, pink striped blouse, btaek skirt, sailor hattrimmed with the fashionable fringed scarf; her lady friend from Sydney looks well in a tailor-made coat and skirt of navy cloth, sailor hat with light blue scarf; Aliss Sealy, blue grey cambrie, sailor hat with white silk scarf; Aliss Gibson, dainty white muslin and lace, .Leghorn hat trimmed with chiffon and feathers; Miss Stephens, orange silk Monse trimmed with black ribbon velvet, black skirt, ehic hat. to match; her sister looks well in. u light blue silk blouse, black skirt, becoming black hat: Aliss Gribben, black and white check blouse, black skirt, sailor hat with black and white fringed scarf; Aliss Pearce, bright blue cambrie; Atiss A, Edwards, white shower muslin, hnt to match; Aliss Day, white pique: Aliss Brmny, black erepon skirt, light blouse, large hat of blue chiffon with red roays,
