Frank Bucklaud, the naturalist, when collecting information about White, of Seibourne, met with an old lady who professed to have seen him, “a white-haired old gent who used to walk about his garden with a crocodile." “Wasn’t it a tortoise?” suggested Buckland. The old lady admitted that it might have been “one of them furren birds.'"
