A PENNY OFF THE LOAF.
One day an Irishman was taking a walk in a. small town when he met an old friend. After walking along the road together, Pat's friend said to him: “Have you heard the latest good news?” “No; what is it?" answered Pat. “There's a penny off t'he loaf.” “Redad!” exclaimed Pat, “an* I hope it's off the penny ones.”
