Dear Bee, December 8. Great quietness and good order were the striking features on election day, last Wednesday. As soon as the polling booth opened at nine o'clock the rote ing started in earnest and was kept up until the clock was just striking six o'clock, when a cab arrived with tlie last voter. During the afternoon the Town Band played an excellent programme in front of Vhe Government Buildings, which made things less monotonous. Amongst the crowd 1 noticed Mrs J. C. George, white and heliotrope costume braided with black velvet; Mrs'Rankin (Nelson), stylish violet- dress trimmed with black, picture hat eo suite; Misses Clegg (2), fawn and heliotrope respectively; Mrs Holdsworth. black; Misses Humphries (2), black and white costumes;' Miss M.
