ORANGE BLOSSOMS

In our account last week of the Major—McMillan wedding it was mentioned that the decorations of St. Mark's were carried out by Mrs Beatty. Mrs Buckie, and Miss Lennox. We are requested by Mrs Beattie to state that in place of her name that of Mrs Dunean Clerk should have been inserted. HONORE—EXETER. On the Bth inst., within the Congregational Church, Napier, was celebrated the marriage of Mr Isaac Honore, youngest son of the late Rev. Abraham Honore. of Foxton, and Miss Catherine Jane Exeter, eldest daughter of Mr T. Exeter, of Napier. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. 11. W. J. Miller. There were a large number of people in the church, which was prettily decorated with white flowers. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a white serge dress trimmed with handsome lace and a white tulle veil and orange blossoms. Her three sisters, who were her bridesmaids, wore one a white costume and hat to correspond and the others were in pale blue muslin trimmed with lace and insertion, white sashes and large white hats. The groomsman was Mr W. Stuart. After the ceremony a breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, after which Mi- and Mrs Honore left for Palmerston North. The wedding gifts were numerous and costly. BRUCE—JOHNSTON. This exceedingly pretty but quiet wedding eventuated at th e eirly hour of 8.30. a.m. on Friday mom’ni-- last at St. Mark’s, Remuera. Auckland. At the hour appointed the sun shone out brightly, and added the last requisite to complete the picturesqueness of the very exclusive function. In fact, as the carriages rolled up to the gates of the church, and their occupants wended their way quietly to the doors of the edifice, it gave the occasion the savour of a pretty modern romance. None but the relations and one or two intimate friends were present. The bride (who is the youngest daughter of Mr William Johnston, of Erin Lodge, Parnell. Auckland) looked perfectly lovely in her exquisitelyfitting costume of tailor-made coat and skirt of fawn cloth, with handsome brocaded silk and chiffon front, whilst a beautiful white hat, trimmed with chiffon, wallflowers, and ostrich tips, completed a charming tout ensemble.

She was given away by- her father. The bridesmaid, Miss Maud Martin, looked charming- in a very pretty French costume of chocolate and bine silk lustre check, with chocolate lace and white satin facings, and exquisite hat to match. Mr Alf. Johnston acted as best man. Mrs W. Johnston, sen. (mother of the bride), wore an olive green satin dress with black laee mantle, pretty pink and black bonnet; Mrs A. Edwards (bride’s.sister), fawn French muslin, With purple trimmings, black hat, with purple flowers; Mrs H. Johnston, green tailor, made costume, black and white hat; Mrs Win. Johnston, jun., handsome black silk, blaek hat. with purple trimmings; Mrs R. Johnston, gray French muslin, with white satin and heliotrope trimmings, pretty toqu e to match; Mrs Duncan Clerk, white pique, gem hat. There were also amongst the spectators the bride’s little nieces, beautifully attired in white.

The ceremony- was performed by the Rev. VV. Beatty, and as the bride left the church, Mrs Clerk, who presided at the organ, played the Wedding March. After running the gauntlet of showers of roses and congratulations, lhe happy couple left the church for the residence of Mrs Clerk (the bridegroom’s sister), where they took leave of their friends and caught the train for Rotorua and Te Aroha, where they intend spending the honeymoon. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome gold bracelet, set with pearls, and to the bridesmaid

ar. elegant- gold ring, set with pearl jnitials. The bride's preseuts-were indeed a beautiful collection, evidencing the manner in which she was esteemed by her numerous friends..’. .' i
