THE ‘GRAPHIC’ COUSINS’ COT FUND.
This fund is for the purpose of maintain ing a poor, sick child in the Auckland Hospital, and is contributed to by the < Graphic ’ cousins—readers of the children’s page. The cot has been already bought by their kind collection of money, and now £25 a year is needed to pay for the nursing, food and medical attendance of the child in it. Any contributions will be gladly received by Cousin Kate, care of the Lady Editor, ‘ New Zealand Graphic,' Shortlandstreet, or collecting cards will be sent on application.
Dear Cousin Kate.—-Will you let me become a cousin and put my letter in the paper? I have now gone back to school. This is my second time at school. I began going before the Christmas holidays. I enjoyed my holidays very much. We went to two picnics and got ferns, but all the ferns soon died. Next year I am to have a pony and learn to ride. Papa rides an awful lot. I have bantams and sometimes get four eggs a day, but no hen lays now. The feathers are coming out. Good-bye. I hope this letter will be in the paper soon.—'BOß, Hawera.
[Very glad to welcome you as a cousin, Bob, and you see I have put your letter in quite soon. How do you like school? I am very fond of ferns, and think you must have forgotten to water yours, or they would not all have died. But mid-summer is not a good time to get them. Your
bantams will soon have done moulting now, and then will begin to lay again. Give them some nice hot food for breakfast. How many have you got? Write soon and tell me.]
