The Auckland Amateur Athletic and ’Cycle Club held their carnival in the Auckland Domain on Saturday, and though the weather was against the gathering, everything passed off very well. The Victor Ludorum was won by J. H. Kelly, who gained first place in the half-mile and second in the twomile walking race. The meeting was signalised by the disqualification of Keating for the meeting, owing to alleged ‘competing not to win’ in the 300 yards. The ’cycle races were good throughout, the pace being excellent. The attendance of ladies was scarcely up to record, owing, no doubt, to the weather. Still, the afternoon was enjoyable.
