The Queen has in her possession a horse shoe made by a lady blacksmith in California. It seems that the lady used to spend many hours in watching the village blacksmith at his work, and became so infatuated over it at last that she begged to be allowed to try what she could do. The result was so good that she persevered, and very soon did a capital trade. People came to see her from all parts, and some of her ‘shoes’ have been exhibited at San Francisco.
