OBITUARY.
Very genuine and widespread reerri has beer, caused :n social circles in Auckland by the melancholy deaih by his own hand of Mr A. EL Hatton. The deceased gentleman was universally I'.ked and respected. Hr was an active and skilful member of the West End Tennis Club. Always kind, considerate and willing to oblige, he became a ?vneral favourite, and his name almost invariably figured upon the guest lists cf euchre parties and quiet dances in Pon son by. where he resided. There ■< no doubt that the business worry of conducting a factory, telling upon a very nervous temperament, resulted in mental derangement. He had suffered for some time from insomnia. The many beautiful wreaths and other floral offerings sent to his funeral betoker.ed the esteem in which he was held. Pi. ton people heart! with deep regret cf the <1 ath of Miss Cora Jensen, eldest da* ghter of Mr Jensen, builder, of Picton. on Sat unlay last. 1 ’th September. Miss Jensen was only IS. and a strong healthy girl. She had influenza, which was followed by pneumonia and throat trouble. She was followed to the grave by all her old schoolfellows and many friends. The Rev. Mr A Ils worth. Presbyterian minister. officiated at the grave. Another young girl. Miss Annie Instone, aeed twenty, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Instoue. of Wairau Road. Picton. succumbed to influenza. Miss Instone died in Blenheim, where she had gone for a change, as she was recovering from influenza. She caught a chill, however, which settled on her lungs, and she died early on Monday morning. The body was brought down to Picton for interment. The Rev. A. H. Sedgwick Anglican clergyman* officiating. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of all residents of Picton. We regret to announce the death of Mrs Savage, wife of Mr Savage, of Twoford Karioi. Raglan, one of the oldest and most respected settlers in the district- The deceased lady was much esteemed for her kindly and generous disposition. The death in Auckland of Mrs Bruce, wife cf Mr Albert Bruce. Town C lerk of rhe Thames, has caused much regrcT. and great sympathy is felt v.'Th the bereaved relatives. The decease*! lady was universally respected.
