Dear Bee, September 1. Last Monday afternoon Mrs Gore gave a very enjoyable ‘AT HOM E’ to a large number of guests at her residence in Aurora Terrace. The house was beautifully decorated with sweetly-scented spring flowers. Tea and coffee and delicious cakes were daintily laid out in two rooms, each table being tastefully arranged with

handsome daffodils, primroses, and violets. During the afternoon music was performed bv some of the guests. Mrs Gore received in a handsome black satin gown, slightly trained and trimmed with jet and lace; the Misses Gore both wore becoming white muslin dresses trimmed with lace, and tied at the waist with coloured sashes; the Misses Nedwill, of Christchurch, who are staying with Mrs Gore, wore dark skirts and stylish silk blouses finished with fine lace. Among the guests I noticed Mrs Rolleston. wearing a handsome black silk jetted gown and pretty black bonnet: Mrs XV. and jet; Miss O’Connor, brown jacket and skirt, pink silk vest, black velvet hat. with feathers; Miss Chatfield, brown Russian dress, and velvet toque trimmed with quills; Mrs Leckie, black Ixmnet with white ospreys. Also, Mrs Morison, Mrs Lowe, Mrs and Miss Percy Smith, Mrs G. Campbell, Mrs and Miss Barclay, Mrs and Miss Blackett, Mrs and Miss Fitzherbert, Mrs and Miss Medley, Mrs Symons, Mrs and the Misses Fancourt, Mrs (Dr.) Henry. Mrs Longdon, Mrs Whitall.
