THE OLD MAN’S WHEELBARROW.
An old ragged man left his wheelharrow on the footpath while he went into a store. * Let’s wheel the old barrow of where he can’t lind it,’ proposed Gillie. ‘ No; let’s tie the wheel so he can t make the old thing go,’ said Eugene. ‘ That would be mean,’ began Ernest. I say, let’s each give him something out of our lunch baskets. We won’t miss it at lunch.’ Each boy did so. When the old man came out of the store, he found an apple, a cake, and a biscuit in his wheelbarrow He ate them, for he was poor and hungry.
