No pains were spared to make the evening a success; the dancing-room floor was perfect, and Mrs anti Miss Greenfield supplied the music. The decorations were lovely, and the garden was illuminated with coloured lanterns, whilst the supper was most recherche. Mrs Hamilton wore a handsome white silk evening blouse, black silk skirt; her three nieces were attired in pretty muslins. There were also present: Sirs Lyell; Mrs H. Dodson, who wore black: Miss Gribben, becoming white silk; Miss Jones, black velvet: Miss G. Jones, a prettv combination of blue and pink; Miss G. Fell wore white: Miss K. Fell, heliotrope silk; Miss Enright looked

well in white erepon and lace; the Misses Gibson, Gibbs (2), Melhuish, Pierce, Leggatt. Harris, Mcßae, WebbBowen (2), Bunny, Edwards, Squires (Auckland), Moore; Messrs Hamilton (-)), Squires (2), Levien (3), Fell, Bonar. Saxon, Dunn, Catley, Adams, Milner (2), Watt. Jones. Pike, and others. The next evening Mr and Mrs Hamilton gave another dance for children, and from all accounts they also spent a most enjoyable time.
