On Friday Mrs Boyd, Stafford-street, gave a large dinner party for young people in honour of her daughter’s (Miss Margaret) coming of age. The same evening Mrs Fisher, St. Clair, gave a most ENJOYABLE MUSICALE for Miss Royse, who has just returned from a trip to the Old Country. A very large number had been expected, but owing to the dreadlul weather and distance to St. Clair, quite a small number turned up. Nevertheless, the evening was a most enjoyable one, the guests not even thinking of departing until after midnight. Mr and Mrs Fisher received their guests in the large diningroom, the latter wearing a handsome black corded silk lavishly trimmed with black lace, deep flounce of lace round the foot of the skirt. The supper-table looked charming decorated with bulbs of all kinds arranged in high specimen vases. Miss Royse contributed two pianoforte solos in fine style, while Mrs Turner gave three or four most amusing recitations. Songs were also given by Miss Henderson, Miss Ethel Neill, and Messrs H. and W. Fisher.
