A highly successful musical evening was given by Mr W. H. Webbe, Miss Spooner, and numerous pupils at Berlin House, Grafton Road, Auckland, on Thursday last. The programme, which was the seventy-seventh, included quartets for two pianos, duos for piano and organ and for two pianos, duos for violoncello and piano, and violin and cello, piano and vocal solos. The playing of the advanced pupils was exceptionally fine, and that of the juveniles very good. The visitors’ items were centributed by Madame Chambers, Miss A. Laver, and Messrs Beale and Hay, and were highly acceptable.
