GOLF.

During the past week only one match of the Club Championship of the Auckland Golf Club has been played. Mr Gillies met Mr Colbeck, aud defeated him by six up and five to play. On Saturday Mr Gillies met’ Mr Walker. The final will be played on May Sth. Last Thursday the ladies met on the Green Lane links (the gentlemen’s links, as their own are not large enough to play a match) to play for the Countess of Glasgow’s prize. Afternoon tea was served in one of the rooms of the pretty little terre-painted cottage belonging to the members of the Green Lane links. On the verandah many of the lady players were seen reclining on the rustic seats, while their bicycles rested near the fence.
