Rain Speaking.

NOTE.—This column is open to all, and the Editor is in no toay responsible for the opinions erpressed in it.

A LADY correspondent writes as follows:—‘Will you allow me to suggest another way of disposing of the Fund collected for the proper celebration of the Queen’s Record Reign ? A Children's Hospital has been proposed, but would not a Convalescent Home be better ? There are many poor men and women annually turned out of the Hospital as “ convalescent ” who have no home to go to and no friends, and who are not yet strong enough to take their place again in the hard struggle for existence except on very easy terms, and for a very small remuneration. To such a Convalescent Home would be an inestimable boon, to enable them to thoroughly recruit their strength, and look about them for suitable employment.’
