DUNEDIN.

Dear Bee, February 13. Last Tuesday, Mrs P. C. Neili gave a small dinner party at her residence, ‘Chingford,’ for Mr and Mrs Prideaux Selby, who were staying with them. On Wednesday afternoon a tennis and croquet party was given by the Misses Rattray ‘ Craighall ’. There were a number of ladies and gentlemen present and the afternoon passed in a very pleasant way. Tea, as usual, was given under the trees, and was most refreshing after playing tennis, etc. Mrs Rattray wore a black gown small black bonnet with flowers : the Misses Rattray (five) all wore striped blouses of different shades, dark skirts; Mrs Charles Rattray, black lustre jacket and skirt, white waistcoat ; Mrs C. W. Reid (Clifton), navy blue tailor-made costume, cream brocade front, large black lace hat with black flowers ; Mrs Jack Wright, flowered muslin blouse, black skirt, large white Leghorn hat ; Miss Wright, heliotrope muslin gown, large hat with heliotrope flowers ; Miss Grierson, grey tailor-made costume, floral hat ; Mrs Gillies (Sydney) blue duck costume, large black hat with pink shot ribbon bows; Miss Webster, flowered muslin blouse, lawn hat with pink flowers ; Miss G. Webster, heliotrope flowered silk, black chip toque with flowers ; Miss Graham, black and white striped blouse, black skirt ; Miss Affleck (Melbourne), royal blue serge jacket and skirt, floral hat; Miss Reynolds, grey lustre jacket and skirt, pink blonse ; Miss V. Reynolds, white muslin costume, black lace hat; Miss N. Reynolds, heliotrope shot with pink, straw hat : Miss F. White, spotted muslin, bright green watered silk sash, large cream Leghorn hat with pink roses and black chiffon ; Miss G. Webster, pink muslin blouse ; Messrs Elam Macdonald, Morris, C. Morris, Rattray. Webster, Roll, Greenwood, Reynolds, Turton, Oldham. Williams, Graham, Gibson, Williams, and others were present. On the same day Mrs Ulrich gave a luncheon party for Mr and Mrs Selby (England). The table was prettily decorated with pink ivy geranium and pink poppies. Those present were Mr and Mrs Selby, Misses Selby, Mrs Webster, Mrs Sale, Professor Sale, and Dr. Alexander. The same afternoon, Mrs Perston (Bank of New South Wales) gave A LARGE AFTERNOON TEA to Mrs Molvneaux (Wellington). A few I remember present were Mesdames Macassey, Reynolds. Selby (Lon don), Jones. Williams. Ogston, Scott, Lintott, Wright, Grierson, Ferguson, Cutten, Haggitt, Roberts, Law, Rattray, MacKerras. Neill, Fox, L. Reynolds, Misses Selby, D.
