A SMALL MEETING OF COUSINS.
Cousin Lou, from the Waikato, is at present visiting Auckland, and, as many cousins had expressed a wish to meet her on account of the amusing letters she used to write, a little gathering was arranged at Cousin Kate’s residence. As the distance from town is considerable, and the notice very short, only a few, about Cousin Lou’s own age, could be communicated with. The impromptu ceremony of afternoon tea was first gone through, then followed music, recitations and games. All seemed pleased to meet, and apparently enjoyed the novel entertainment. The mother of one cousin, Mrs Thompson, of ‘ Rocklauds,’ Epsom, was also present, and has most kindly invited all the girl cousins living in Auckland, or near, who can manage it, to go out to her pretty place on Saturday afternoon (August 29th) at 2 o’clock. We hope to have the pleasure, there, of meeting a good many cousins. Ask the ’bus driver (Mount Eden) to put you all down as near 1 Rocklands ’ as possible.
