Dear Bee, t May 27. THE MILITARY BALL held in the Drill-shed on Wednesday evening was in every way a great success. The hall was very tastefully decorated with ever greens and flags. I will not attempt to mention all those present, but will tell you a few dresses I noticed .—Miss Dalmer, blue crepon; her sister in white; Miss Baddeley, white; Mrs New bould, black; Miss Jago. white; Miss Williams, heliotrope; Miss Crosse, white; Miss I. Crosse, white satin trimmed with yellow ; Miss Wrightson, blue net; Miss Watkins, white; Miss Margo liouth, blue crepon; Miss sSmith, pink; Mrs Swan, white satin; Miss Newbould, white ; etc. Another MILITARY DANCE was held the night following for children in the same hall. 'I he room looked a very gay picture, and dancing was indulged in by adults after ten o’clock for two hours, at which everybody on joyed themselves. Mrs Sainsbury gave PLEASANT LITTLE DANCE on Tuesday evening for her young guests. Those present were Misses Kennedy (two), Hoadley (two). Coleman, Donnelly, Cotteril (two), etc., Messrs Fannin, Hoadley, Margoliouth, Hughes.Cotteril, Logan, etc. At Mr Maughan Barnett's concert those I noticed were Mrs Kettle, Mrs Kinross White, Mrs Bowen, Miss Seed, Misses Williams (two), Mrs King. Miss Ormond, Mrs Humphries, Mrs Fenwicke, Miss Wilkins. Mrs Wood, Mrs Hamlin, Mrs Cornford, Miss Kennedy. Miss White, Miss Brown, etc. Mrs Kettle had a number of young people at her house on Thursday evening. Mr Green and Mr Owen amused the company with their ni.iizic lanterns.
