Dear Bee, December 14. On Tuesday a very SMART LUNCHEON was given by Mrs Jowitt (Caversham) for Miss Ramsay and Miss Moodie. Mrs Jowitt was most becomingly gowned in pale blue corded cloth, the bodice covered with cream aerophane and prettily trimmed with cream ribbon ; Miss Roberts, stylish black crepon trimmed with satin ribbon, large black lace hat with black ostrich tips and pink satin ribbon rosettes; Miss Moodie, heliotrope blouse, smart floral toque: Miss Cameron. The table was daintily decorated with high specimen vases filled with white daises and exquisite pink ivy geranium ; white crepon paper was twisted in and out between the vases. A large FAREWELL AFTERNOON TEA, was given by the Misses Shand (University Buildings) for Miss Rsmsay and Mias Moodie on Wednesday afternoon. The table was most uniouely decorated with wild iviri. mir guerites. manuka, buttercups, etc., and looked extremely pretty. Music was kept going nearly all the afternoon. Misses E. and L. Shand each sane several times. As the afternoon was a very hot one, nearly all the girls wore cool blouses and dark skirts, so I will have to content myself with only a list of names. Miss Shand wore a smart white pique jacket and skirt, white blouse; Miss E. Shand, black serge costume, light yellow waistcoat: Miss L. On Thursday evening Miss Ethel Macassey gave a SMALL MUSICAL EVENING as a farewell to Miss Ramsay. Large bowls of roses formed a charming centrepiece to the supper table. The table was simply one mass of poppies, daisies, and greenery, etc. In the centre of the table was a large silver bowl also filled with poppies. The drawing-room looked exceedingly pretty. The mantelpiece was decorated with vases filled with red and pink poppies. On all the small tables delicious sweets were placed in tiny silver baskets. The table in the bow window was completely covered with roses. Amongst those present were Miss Roberts, blue spotted blouse, black and white skirt; Miss Ramsay, black serge: her sister also wore black ; Miss Ulrich.stylish heliotropecrepon blouse, black skirt: MissE. On Saturday afternoon Miss Ulrich gave a LARGE AFTERNOON TEA as a farewell to Miss Ramsay, who is leaving us very shortly to take up her residence at the Thames. The table decorations were most unique—vases of daisies and forget-me-nots placed on the table forming the letter N., which is the commencement of Miss Ramsay’s Christian name. After tea the guests returned into the drawing-room, where music was kept going until late in the afternoon. Songs were sung by the Misses Roberts, Reynolds, E. Shand, and L. Shand, and pianoforte solos were tastefully rendered by Misses Branson, Ulrich, Roberts, and Fraser. Misw Ulrich wore a most becoming blouse of petunia coloured cashmere, neat silk crepon skirt; Miss E. Ulrich, stylish pale blue blouse, large collar and cuffs of red velvet, electric blue skirt. Amongst the guests stylish gowns were worn by Miss Ramsay, smart black serge costume, sailor hat; Miss C.
