Dear Bee, .September 23. THE WAITOIII FOOTBALL SOCIAL on Wednesday last was a great kuccpfk. The hall was prettily decorated with flags, nikau palms, etc. A football was suspended in the centre of the loom, and on the walls were displayed the colours of the club (black and yellow). The floor w’as perfect, and Mr Kane made a capital M.C. The table, which was arranged by the ladies, was. as usual, well supplied with good things. Dancing was kept up till about 3 a.m., everybody being unwilling to break up such a sociable evening. Mrs Sealey looked very nice in a cream blouse and black cashmere skirt: Mrs Bolvander wore black grenadine with cream chiffon sleeves; Mrs Oxley, black cashmere ; Mrs Hart, old gold covered with black lace: Mrs Fell, black; Miss Seymour, pale green silk with green plush sleeves; Miss Webster: Miss M. Webster, blue; Miss K. Seymour, pink silk; Miss E Seymour, serge skirt, red blouse trimmed with Valenciennes lace; MlssL ruller, grey with gauze sleeves ; Miss
N. Allen, black with white lace; Miss Hay. black; Miss Thompson, dark skirt, white blouse: Miss Fell, white: Miss Carey, pale blue; MissS. Philpotts, white; Miss M. Philpotts, Mis* Jefferies, Miss Fredericks, black cashmere ; Miss Western, white ; Miss M. western, cream and pink; Miss Fuller, cream veiling: Miss Bartlett, dark skirt with light blouse ; Miss A. Bartlett, Miss E. Bartlett, pretty delaine ; Miss Neil, cream with blue ribbon ; Miss Moss, pink; Miss E. Greensill, cream with blue bows; Miss Biddle, brown skirt and light blouse ; Miss Fisk, velvet skirt and light blouse; Miss M. Steele, pale blue; Miss R. Williams, dark skirt and light blous° ; Miss Hood, dark blue cashmere; Miss Steele, dark skirt and light b ouse. There were also present Messrs Kane. Baillie, Wilson, Brown. Howard, Western (three), Solvander. McShane (two). Marshal, Smith (two), Riddell. Price (two), Philpotts. Hawker itwo). Greensill (three). Card (two), Webster. Anderson, Wooley, Oxley, Fisk (two). Jjewis, Bartlett, Rutherford, Pugh, Hood, Jeffries (three), Godfrey, etc. There were others whom I did not know, so cannot mention their names. The Misses Philpotts gave a jolly children’s party last Saturday at* Acheni Hill.’ in honour of Miss Lizzie Phillpotts' birthday. Among those present were Misses Philpotts (six), B. Allen. J. Seymour, M. Fell, G. Gudgeon, I. Sealey. M. McNab, and Messrs Stowe (two), Scott and Fell.
