FLOORS. The best treatment for stained and varnished floors is to rub them over with a very small quantity of dried beeswax, and then polish them with a brush : or oeeswax melted with turpentine may be used, as it requires less labour, but it is not quite so good in iu effeet. This will 611 up any ordinary scratches ; but if it is cot saeeeasfaL the floor must be re varnished For this purpose lib of shellac dissolved in one gallon of methylated spirits of wine will be found an excellent varnish. If lain on very thinly, it dries quickly, and leaves a beautiful polish.
