WANGANUI.
Dear Bee, August 23 As we like to see our little affairs early in the Graphic, I am sending you a brief account of our BACHELORS* BALL, though probably your usual correspondent will send you a fuller one. It was held in the Druid's hall on Wednesday evening and was a pronounced success, floor, music and supper being all*that foot, ear and mouth could desire. The eye was also gratified bv the very pretty decorations, the large number of lamps adding much to the good effect. There were very many pretty frocks in the hall. Amongst them I noticed Mrs Mill ward, in black with white touches; Mrs D'Arcy. most becoming ivory white costume * Mrs Aylmer, a handsome Bordeaux silk softened with a good deal of white lace; Mrs J. Aylmer, white satin ; Mrs J. Watt, white brocade; Mrs Jackson, black silk; Mrs Beattie, dove-coloured velvet ; Mrs Sheriff, pretty oyster-white silk ; Mrs Ernpson black brocade; Mrs Armitage, crimson bodice and cream skirt with crimson trimmings; Mrs Brabant, black ; Mrs Earle, black* Mrs Montgomerie black and pink : Mrs Barnicoat. black watered silk and jet; Mrs Saunders, creamy coloured silk; Mrs Cutfield black: Mrs Booth, cream and peacock blue; Mrs Moore white brocade and green velvet revers; Miss Travers, white ’brochc with silver trimmings; Miss Taylor, lavender dress* Miss - raylor. palest primrose with yellow floral trimmings* Miss Brown, lovely shrimp pink; Miss Mcßeth, cream relieved with pale green: Miss Robertson, pink: Miss C. Brewer crimsonMisses R. Brabant, Duree, Kiull, L. Krull, etc., etc., were amongst those present
