•Honeysuckle,’ New Plymouth.—l feel quite sorry for your trouble with the wax. Before you wash any more, try putting white blotting-paper over the embroidery where the wax seems likely to show, and press a hot iron on it, moving the blotting-paper as the grease comes through. This might succeed after washing, but I fear not. Benzine or ammonia are the two best agents for removing grease marks. I will quote your letter, and perhaps some of my clever readers may be able to suggest some really efficient way of helping yon :—* I am preparing my trousseau, and in so doing have marked linen through using crewel patterns for outlining sprays of embroidery on white pillow-cases, and in some cases the wax has spread and shown through. Could you kindly suggest anything that would take the wax mark out, as once washing and a good rnb at that, have not done so. My mother takes the Graphic every week, and it is eagerly looked forward to by all of us, and I have seen many valuable little hints, so thought yon might be able to help me in this.’ [Yes, Ido like the real name but not for publication, and even the sending it to me is optional.]
