Proprietor : ‘He can speak a little, but he’s too old to learn anything new.’ (Hesitatingly) : ‘ Would he imitate any sounds he might hear, such as a sneeze or a cough, or anything of that kind ?’
‘ No. The girls were trying the other day to teach him to imitate the sound of a kiss, but he wouldn’t do it.’ ‘ I’ll take him.’
