Clerk : ‘ Can I get off this afternoon ?’ Mr Biggs : ‘ What for?’ Clerk : ‘ A death in the family.’ Mr Biggs : ‘Jones, that’s an old excuse. You’ve been as happy as a lark all day, and want to get off to go to a funeral of a relative. I just heard you whistling.’ Clerk : ‘ Well to tell you the truth, it is my mother-in-law.’
