CHRISTCHURCH.
Dear Bee, September 6. There were such crowds of WELL-DRESSED PEOPLE AT MR WALLACE’S CONCERT last Thursday that it was next to impossible to turn and look at your neighbour. Mrs Wilding, Mrs Westmacott, Mesdames F. M. Wallace. M. Campbell, Henderson. Bowen. J. R. Webb. Miss Webb, Miss Hale. Miss Greenwood, black and white striped silk; Miss A. Greenwood, pretty dress of black and pale lavender trimmed with black lace ; Miss B. Greenwood, striped heliotrope and white, white cloak trimmed with handsome white lace ; Miss Wright (Dunedin), pale heliotrope, with pink sash; Miss E. The JUVENILE OPERA COMPANY, who have had a very successful week here, are now in the south, returning on Friday, when they give a popular concert in the Tuam-street Theatre, under Mr H. Weir’s management. The Mayor’s fancy dress ball on the 20th is the much-talked-of function at present.
