- Quite a batch of y engagements are reported
from Christchurch. Mr Cotterill. for many years
a resident at Avonside. was recently betrothed to Miss Ada Ronalds. Mr Menzies, of Christchurch, is affianced
to Miss Thorpe. Mr D. Watson, son of Mr John Watson, of Springhill, Papanui, is engaged to Miss F. Hale.
It is rumoured that Miss Hay, of Victoria Avenue, Remueia, who has recently been on a visit to Sydney, is engaged to a wealthy gentleman of that city.
